Swim more months, spend less on energy

The Costa del Sol's climate is ideal for pool heat pumps — mild outdoor temperatures mean the equipment runs efficiently for a large part of the year. We recommend two primary approaches depending on your goals and budget.

  • Air-source heat pump — our primary recommendation By far the most efficient way to heat a pool. Heat pumps use a small amount of electricity to transfer heat from the air into the water, giving you 4–6 units of heat for every unit of electricity used. Hayward is our preferred brand — robust, quiet, and proven in the Spanish climate. Works year-round, not just in summer.
  • Solar collectors — best as a supplement Solar panels on the roof can pre-heat your pool water before it reaches the heat pump, reducing running costs further. A great add-on if you already have a heat pump, or for extending the season in spring and autumn. Not effective as a standalone solution in winter.

Pool Covers

A cover isn't optional — it's part of the system

Up to 70% of pool heat loss happens through the water surface. No matter how good your heating system is, without a cover you're fighting a losing battle. The right cover also keeps the pool clean and can prevent accidents.

  • Roldeck automatic slatted covers — our preferred choice Roldeck's polycarbonate slats are more impact-resistant and colour-stable than standard PVC. The cover rolls open and closed automatically, sits flush with the pool surrounds and is strong enough to support the weight of a child. It's the complete solution: insulation, safety and convenience in one.
  • Solar bubble covers A cost-effective cover that retains heat and reduces evaporation — the biggest source of heat loss after the surface itself. We custom-cut these to fit any pool shape and supply a roller for easy use.
  • Winter debris covers Mesh or solid vinyl covers that keep your pool clean through the off-season. Mesh types allow rainwater through while blocking debris; solid covers prevent anything entering and block sunlight to inhibit algae growth.

Filtration & Water Quality

Clean water, less chemistry

Good filtration is the foundation of a healthy pool. The right system means cleaner water, lower chemical costs and less maintenance. We advise on, supply, install and service all types of filtration equipment.

  • DE (Diatomaceous Earth) filtration — best water clarity The most effective filter type available. If you want crystal-clear water with minimal chemical treatment, DE is the standard to aim for. More expensive upfront, but the quality of the result justifies it.
  • Salt chlorination & UV systems Salt systems generate chlorine from dissolved salt — gentler on eyes and skin, lower ongoing cost. UV treatment neutralises bacteria and reduces the chlorine demand further. We install the Idegis NEO-32+ salt chlorinator with integrated pH/ORP controller.
  • Sand & cartridge filters The most common filter types — reliable, easy to maintain and appropriate for many pools. We size these correctly for your pool volume and flow rate, which makes a significant difference to their effectiveness.

Indoor pools need dehumidification — full stop

A heated indoor pool constantly evaporates moisture into the air. Without proper dehumidification, you get condensation on windows and walls, mould, structural damage and an uncomfortable pool room. It's not an optional extra — it's essential.

We design dehumidification systems from scratch or retrofit into existing pool rooms. The key is getting it right first time: an undersized system will never keep up, and the remediation costs are significant. We've resolved plenty of situations where the original installation wasn't adequate — and those jobs are always more expensive than a properly specified system from the start.
